As a child I was drawn to feathers, stones, fur and bones. Making things from them was not exactly encouraged in my family, but you cannot stop the wild hearted!
I gained a BA in Art, and an MA in Anthroplogy (because I find the human animal the most perplexing of all!) then devoted 20 years of my life to the animal-care field. I recently decided to abandon what many would consider a dream career, and return to my passion for making art.
I strive to capture the Spirit of Nature with hand-crafted leather and fur pouches, headdresses, jewelry, cloaks and mantles, as well as providing carefully curated curiosities, and occasional craft materials.
Each feral wearable is designed to honor the animal from which it came, and remind people of their connection with the wild, even if they are caught within the web of civilized life.
Most of my hand-sewn creations are made with scrap pieces of leather and fur. I let the materials decide the direction each item will take, ensuring that you will have a unique piece.
While I do use artificial sinew, the rest of my materials are free of plastic or resin.
People come to my shop for different needs, whether it be for ritual, spiritual, or shamanic use. They may be reenactors, or entertainers. Or just folks wishing to enhance their daily life with the inclusion of the natural world. I'm always interested in what people use my items for, so feel free to share!
