Vintage Wolf (Canis lupus) headdress, made by an unknown artist. Beautiful white to ivory white color.
Offered as a fix-it-yourself project!
This head was from a dancing skin, and is in need of some TLC. The base is a thick leather cap, to which is glued the wolf skin. I avoid using glue in my own work, but whoever made this had no such restrictions, and the whole back of the neck is thick with it where it pulled away from the leather cap. The skin itself has tears along the edges, and the leather cap is misshapen from storage.
There is a wood block glued under the muzzle (which makes it rather sturdy), with a set of carved bone teeth in front. One detached carved bone fang is included, the others were missing.
At the back of the head is a leather drop with feathers attached.
I'm including leather ties to attach it, and two antler tips which might make interesting replacements for the missing bone teeth. Also included are 4 dirty white ermine skins which were hanging from the sides of the head when I got it.
This can also make a nice wall hanger!
